Its been a hectic month, lots of painting and designing for some child friendly art and gearing up for Christmas illustrations also some small client based projects, and I am finally making headway so that I can put out some food and nature inspired illustration into the mix.
I have had my head down for weeks with the book "Boof Goes To Beauty School"that I am illustrating for the wonderful Author Caroline Tuohey http://carolinetuohey.com/ ,my husband and I were flipping through the latest lot of finished illustrations and I can see the book coming to life, its so exciting and I can not wait to see it in its final printed beauty.
I love to do illustration for children,it takes you to another place,a better place where life is full of wonder and joy, colour and laughter, fun and whimsy.
I have been so busy with the book that I am illustrating and with new designs that I have had time to Blog, but I am determined to get this blog going and upload current work, tutorials, hints and tips among other things,it is time to get blogging!

Its been a hectic couple of weeks, working on a book for Author Caroline Tuohey, one of the most positive and inspiring women I've met,you can visit our book progress page at the following link.
Also working on a line of greeting cards and prints that Ive had in the back burner for some time,I now have about 30 images ready for release this year.
For now I am sharing a few little illustrations that I have done and will be back again in a day or so,xox.
I love the look of simple colour pallets, the use of just a few colours is such a nice way of allowing the subject to stand out in a quite way, with the following illustrations I used just paynes grey, blue , a touch of rose madder, green and highlights of white gouache.
I found a picture of a beautiful doll on the net and I just had to draw and paint her,the green colors on this doll really appealed to me so much that I had to paint this.
I will be posting more of my dolly portraits later.
Thanks for popping by xox
Books are just something that I love and treasure, especially art books and craft type books, there is something special about a lazy free day when you can just lay back and browse a beautiful book that inspires you to pick up a tool be it a pen, pencil, paint, whatever you use,its just wonderful to be so inspired that you cant wait to create.
Every now again I will share some of my most loved books and today its Danny Gregory all the way,you will find him on you tube and his books on Amazon and at sketch book school,he is awesome and so inspiring!
